CHECK UPS
Extending the lifetime of your
equipment:
Annual maintenance of your equipment
by a qualified technician is the most important thing you can do to extend
the lifetime of your equipment. Having your heater checked in the fall, and
your air-conditioner checked in the spring can head off any problems that
may develop, keeping your system from breaking down on the hottest and coldest
days.
Below is the procedure followed
for our heating and air conditioning checkups:
Air-conditioning to be checked
in the spring.
- Check temperatures and pressures
of refrigerant to determine if the right amount of charge is in the system
- Clean outdoor condenser coils
- Lubricate all open type bearings
in motors
- Check filter and replace if
needed (customer must provide filter)
- Check thermostat and calibrate
if necessary
- Check starting and running amperage
for compressor and motors
- Check all electrical connections
and wiring
- Check condensate flow
- Check electronic components
(capacitors, contactors, relays, etc.)
Gas heater to be checked in
the fall.
- Check heat exchanger for cracks
- Check gas lines for leaks
- Test all safeties and limits
- Check all burners or jets
- Check for proper pilot operation
- Lubricate open type bearings
in blower motor
- Check vent for proper draw
- Check filter and replace if
needed (customer must provide filter)
- Check all electrical connections
and wiring
- Check electrical components
(capacitors, contactors, relays, etc.)
- Check for proper combustion
and gas pressure
Or electric heat to be checked
in the fall.
- Check all electrical connections
and wiring
- Check electrical components
(capacitors, contactors, relays, etc.)
- Check filter and replace if
needed (customer must provide filter)
- Lubricate open type bearings
in blower motor
- Check sequence of operation
for heat strips
- Check elements
- Check amperage for proper wattage
We recommend having these services
performed on your equipment twice a year. Regular checkups will keep your
system running safely and efficently throughout the year and allow you to
get the longest life out of your equipment.
